Recurse Center Day 1
We started with intros today and hearing more about how to grow during our time at RC. I was initially really intimidated and felt a lot of imposter syndrome kick in but I feel so inspired after hearing the staff talk about making the most of the program. They emphasized pairing, writing a lot of code and working at the edge of your abilities.
This is so different from anything I’ve ever done. During the introductory meetings, the staff talked about begin driven by intrinsic motivation and building your volitional muscles. I feel pretty far from being able to do that at the moment but I guess thats part of what this process is about.
Going to spend some time on exercism just to get back into writing a little code.
Things I did today
- lots of intro meetings - met a lot of nice people!
- started this blog
- completed Exercism’s scrabble score exercise
- started a list to keep track of things I’m curious about and might want to do deeper dives in on later
