RC Day 4: Establishing a daily coding practice
[Today's recap] Today at RC, I did my first coffee bot chat and had a great conversation about goals, pairing and passions with Gareth. I made the teeniest bit of progress on my ruby-learning app. I realized I know less than I thought about how javascript libraries are bundled but decided that will be a learning topic for another day. Also, presentations were today and they were all incredible - too much for me to give any justice to here. I did learn that RC has their own server hosted on a raspberry pi so I could potentially host a project on there at some point.
[Daily Coding Practice] I'm hoping to do a small coding exercise as a warm-up everyday. I've really been enjoying exercism for this. If I have a day like today where getting started is intimidating I can choose an easy problem and move on to something harder.
I had a ton of imposter syndrome come up again (hello, old friend). But once I started coding, I was able to let that fall away and feel just curiosity about what I was doing. That's a great feeling. And that is pretty much what I want to accomplish in my time at RC.
In the spirit of learning generously, I plan to put the little coding exercises I do in the morning in a repo at some point.
